Student
Aid/ Financial Assistance
The assistance is for families who are
experiencing financial hardship and for whom all other options have been
exhausted. Financial aid is not intended to help underwrite costs associated
with those engaged in private business ventures or to subsidize those who have
older children attending private universities in the U.S. or elsewhere. The decision to award Financial Aid is made
upon:
- A determination of financial
need: An application with evidence of income from a tax statement is required.
- The years necessary for
funding: Funding determination will be weighed by the length of time a student
is in school. The aid is intended to be for emergency situations. Priority will
be given to older students. It is not the intention to provide aid for a
prolonged period of time. When the families’ financial condition improves, it
is hoped that they can return aid money to the school so that other families
may benefit.
The specific
amount of aid granted to any individual student is dependent upon financial
need, the total amount of money designated for financial aid in the annual
school budget and the number of qualifying applicants each year. Assistance for
more than one year at a time cannot be guaranteed.
A student must be enrolled in Canadian
Academy for at least one year in order to be eligible for financial aid.
