Welcome to Canadian Academy. Canadian Academy is a diverse and dynamic international school in Kobe, Japan with over 600 students including 35 nationalities. We are a community steeped in tradition where relationships matter. Canadian Academy offers a wealth of academic learning opportunities as well as a wide range of extracurricular activities in the performing arts, athletics, clubs, and alongside community organizations. We have over 85 teachers, recruited from around the world for their professional excellence and dedication to student learning. Canadian Academy students love coming to school everyday. They take learning seriously and live our school's mission by inquiring, reflecting and choosing to compassionately impact the world throughout their lives.
Having celebrated our centennial in 2013, Canadian Academy continues its long tradition of academic excellence and service to others. Our school's rich history inspires us to continue in that tradition, while also pushing us to pursue advances in the field of education. In May of 2015 Canadian Academy adopted a new Strategic Plan, that will continue to guide us toward our vision of being a vibrant international learning community that fosters creativity and personal fulfillment.
As an IBO World School offering the Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programs, Canadian Academy strives to foster creativity and create the conditions for students to follow their passion for learning. Our graduates go on to attend top universities around the world.
As Headmaster, I am honored to be a part of such an outstanding educational institution. Canadian Academy is central to my life both professionally and personally. My wife Celia is the Elementary School librarian, and our two children love everything that the elementary school has to offer. We often reflect upon how fortunate we are to work at this school while living in Japan; a country with such a fascinating culture and rich traditions. We here at Canadian Academy look forward inspiring your child every day.
