Parent Teacher Association

Welcome to the PTA pages.

The PTA works to strengthen the bond and partnership between the school and the parents for the benefit of the students at Canadian Academy. The PTA has been a part of the school community since 1920. We are proud to help foster community spirit and create opportunities for social and fundraising events, and provide venues for the expression of views on matters of general interest to parents, faculty and students.

PTA meetings are open to all members. All parents of CA students, and all teachers, are members. Meetings are generally held on the 1st Thursday of the month, at 3:45 PM in the ELAC Conference Room. Please drop in and get involved!

Activities PTA supports
  • New Parents Welcome
  • Sports Day
  • Halloween Party for Elementary School Students
  • Social Events for Parents and Teachers
  • International Food and Fun Fair
  • Parent Partner Program
  • Booster Club
  • Falcon Store
  • Guest speakers, Authors & Artists

We always need extra hands to make these activities come to life. These opportunities to volunteer are fabulous ways to meet other parents and be a positive influence in the school community.

Students studying theatre will showcase some of the work they have been doing with Mark over the fortnight of his residency. They will demonstrate a mixture of activities and performative outcomes across a range of skills and knowledge from practitioners such as Anne Bogart, Tadashi Suzuki and Hijikata Tatsumi. The showcase will be in workshop style rather than performance style, so small segments of work will be explained and contextualised throughout the session. Following the showcase, Mark Hill will give an artist's talk, explaining some of the context behind his residency at CA as well as sharing some of his own experiences and methods that have made him a hugely successful and sought-after performing artist and teacher. The showcase will be "pay-what-you-want" with all proceeds going to the charity Sharing Stories, who Mark works with in his native Australia.

Saturday, Jan. 28th-- 5:45 pm Doors Open-- 6:00 pm prompt start! P&G Black Box Theater!
