Admissions Timeline

Canadian Academy welcomes applicants from overseas and from within Japan. Please note the different admissions timelines for applying families; families should adhere to guidelines that best meet their current status. 

Admission is conditional upon space availability and the meeting of admission requirements. All applicants must complete internal testing and interviews at Canadian Academy before any decisions are made. Please contact the Admissions Office for more information.

Note: There is no interviewing or testing in June and July for any of our schools. 

Families applying from overseas and outside the Kansai area

Canadian Academy welcomes applicants from overseas and outside the Kansai area. Applications are accepted anytime during the school year; however, applications must be submitted at least three weeks prior to the desired admission date.

Families applying from Japanese schools in the Kansai area

Canadian Academy welcomes applications from students who attend local Japanese schools and schools in which English is not the main language of instruction. Applications are accepted anytime during the school year; however, applications must be submitted at least three weeks prior to the desired admission date.

Families applying from international schools in the Kansai area

Rolling Admission is NOT applicable to those applying from international schools in the Kansai region. Applicants who are currently attending international schools in the area usually follow the timeline provided below. We do accept students from other international schools mid-year with the expressed consent of the other school. 

Admissions Timeline for those applying from local international schools

 Elementary School BBP

• February 28, 2013 - Deadline for all application documents 
• May 6-10, 2013 - Interviews/Testing (by appointment only)

 Elementary School KA – Grade 5

• January 31, 2013 - Deadline for all application documents 
• March 18-24, 2013 - Interviews/Testing (by appointment only)

Middle/ High School

• January 31, 2013 - Deadline for all application documents 
• February 28, 2013 9:00-12:00 - Interviews/Testing
• March 8, 2013 9:00-12:00 - Placement testing & course selection (mandatory for all accepted students)
