On May 20-21, five CA students participated in a two day Mathematics Olympiad, competing against Senri Osaka International School, Osaka YMCA International School, Doshisha Kyoto International School, and Marist Brothers International School. The event consisted of individual and team events, as well as challenging students from different schools to work together.
We are pleased and proud to announce that we earned 1st place in the team competition, as well as 2nd and 3rd place in the individual competition. Congratulations to Harold, Kensei, Jinwoo, Terumasa and Jeremy! Given that there were 25 highly motivated participating mathematicians, this is quite an achievement and speaks well of our mathematics program at Canadian Academy!
A special thank you to Ms. Buruhanudeen who coached, and Mr. Clevenger, who supported the team. Overall, they were impressed with the mathematical skills on display, as well as how our students made new friends in other schools.
Academic excellence is part of what exemplifies a CA education. Congratulations, team, for representing us so well.
