Delicious food, fun games, exciting performances, and friends around the world - what more could we ask for? On April 13th, our students, families, teachers, and alumni came together for our cherished annual event, the International Fun Fair, and celebrated our cultural diversity.
We would like to express our gratitude to our PTA, who organized and sponsored this special event and put in hours of hard work to lead it to great success!
This year, there were 28 food booths from countries and regions around the world. We were thrilled to try different tastes - cotton candy from the Japan booth, German pretzels, lumpia from the Philippines, and various African dishes, amongst many others.
We appreciate that our families and students spent a lot of time and energy to prepare the amazing food and decorate their stalls creatively. It was so difficult to decide which one to try first!
The entertainment stage was also exciting. Twenty groups of students, teachers, and families showcased their talents in their performances, including Japanese taiko drumming, a flamenco show, and a Canadian hockey demonstration. These fantastic performances filled the atrium with energy and excitement.
Following the stage performances, the raffle, supported by our families and community members, took place. Everyone gathered around the stage, eagerly anticipating their names to be called to win special gifts.
There were also enjoyable booths with games and activities. In the Japanese tea ceremony booth, tea ceremony students did a demonstration and entertained their guests with a nice cup of matcha, providing a taste of Japanese culture. Some other student-run booths offered activities such as face painting and a shooting gallery. Our secondary students did a fantastic job running the booths and entertaining their younger peers.
The International Food Fair truly reflected our diverse, warm, and enthusiastic community. We're already looking forward to next year's event! Thank you to everyone who contributed to making it a success and to all who joined us for the fun!
