International Food and Fun Fair

International Food and Fun Fair

Have you heard the good news? Our International Food and Fun Fair (IFFF) will make its return after a lengthy pause due to Covid-19. This PTA-sponsored event is one of the highlights of the year, celebrating the diversity of our community while reminding us that we are one family.

Although this year's event will look different than in years past as we keep the safety and health of our community in the forefront of our planning, many of the activities and events will remain. Food from around the world will be on offer, entertainment by a wide variety of community members will bring smiles to our faces, our Parade of Nations will showcase our diversity, and games for the children will keep the little ones entertained.

As we want to ensure a safe event, the food served will be a 'grab-and-go' style, reducing waiting lines as much as possible. And rather eat indoors, your family is invited to find a picnic spot on our Nestle field, where the stage and games will be set up.

As PTA's largest fundraiser, funds from the past have been used to purchase the 'shade sails' found on our atrium patio and over the baseball bleachers, seating in the library, and our Artist in Residence program, among other events and items.

It's not too late to join in the preparation and planning-- the IFFF planning committee will meet on Monday, March 14, at 9 am. To receive the Zoom invitation, please email Rob Smailes (robs@canacad.ac.jp).

Be sure to circle Saturday, April 16 on your calendar-- the IFFF will finish at 2 pm, but families are welcome to stay and play on our playground and Nestle field. We look forward to seeing you there!
