The Boarding Experience

As we are sure you have heard, our Gloucester House boarding facilities underwent exciting renovations during the summer of 2021. This home-away-from-home boasts separate boys and girls facilities, each with its own shared living room that offers a communal space that teenagers need. The bedrooms include a study carrel, natural lighting, and plenty of storage space. With its kitchenette and laundry facilities, our boarding students acquire life-long skills preparing them for life after Canadian Academy.

Many of our grade 8 and above boarding students come to us from various cities throughout Japan, as Kobe offers a safe, quiet environment in which to receive a world-class education. At times, a CA family moves on to their next posting-- but their child chooses to remain with us and stays in our boarding house. And of course, students are welcome to join us coming from abroad. The experience and reward of living with a diverse group of students, increasing one's sense of what it truly means to be internationally minded, can not be overstated.

Our boarding parents introduce Japanese culture while celebrating the diversity found within its walls. The boarding program itself includes day-trips, weekend activities, and social outings with our boarding parents, as well as the occasional ping pong tournament and weekly Sundaes on Sunday.

We are currently accepting applications for our 2022-2023 boarding program. Please consider sharing this with friends back home or those who may be interested in this unique experience for their child.
