‘We haven’t really bonded like that before. It was very nice!’ - During the fall break, our boarding students went on a trip to Okinawa, an island in the southern part of Japan. Sixteen students joined the trip and they fully enjoyed the unusual experience, building a strong bond with each other.
In Okinawa, the students participated in various activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, and cave tours. The most popular activity among the students was snorkeling. A student reflects on the experience, saying, ‘At first I was scared, especially on the second day when we went in the middle of the ocean. However, when I saw that everyone was doing it, I got more comfortable. Then I just got mesmerized by the beautiful fish and corals.’
The boarding program at Canadian Academy offers a wide variety of local experiences during holidays as well as on weekends. These local experiences help the boarding students to genuinely understand the local culture and to build life-long friendships.
