Care & Wellbeing
A Home Away From Home
Our boarding parents are committed to making students’ living environment safe, friendly, warm, and caring. They strive to make Gloucester House more than just a place to sleep and study; they want it to be a second home for our boarding students. They hope students feel comfortable interacting with the boarding parents and contributing to make Gloucester House an ideal community.
Boarding parents expect behaviors of students to be conducive to a group-living situation. The Boarding Handbook outlines the expectations and policies by which the rules are fairly enforced, to promote respect for each person’s welfare and property. Students are expected to put forward their best efforts academically and to practice self-discipline, sound judgment, and good manners.
The care and wellbeing of our boarding residents is always first and foremost in the minds of our boarding parents. With breakfast and dinners eaten together, cultural experiences and fun excursions, as well as just hanging out offer multiple and daily opportunities to check in.
Our boarding program develops confidence, responsibility, and prepares for the next steps after Canadian Academy.
Eating together and playing games after the meal definitely creates that family feel. I am cared for, part of a family, and that I belong.
