A structured, supportive environment for student life.

Your Circle of Support
Our boarding community is a tight-knit and truly international group of 40 students, representing 17 nationalities. They are cared for by a strong support network that ensures their boarding experience is safe and comfortable.
Dorm parents and our Head of Residential Life live in apartments adjacent to the student houses, all connected by a shared courtyard. They guide and support students in their daily lives, offering structure, supervision, and encouragement. The Head of Residential Life oversees the boarding program and partners closely with families to support each student’s physical, social, and emotional well-being. Dorm parents share meals with students in the dining hall and welcome them home after school, helping to foster a strong sense of community.
Our resident dorm nurse, who also serves as a dorm parent, is on-call for illnesses, medical needs, and emergencies. All medications are managed and dispensed by the nurse, who also assists with doctor’s visits. Beyond the dorms, students are supported by teachers, homeroom advisors, and our counseling team, who monitor student well-being and help prepare them for life beyond high school.

Child Safeguarding
All faculty, staff, and dorm parents at Canadian Academy are required to complete child safeguarding training. Additionally, all dorm parents are certified in First Aid. Our experienced counseling team addresses child safeguarding the importance of student wellbeing during orientation.
While our boarding program encourages students to grow in independence, we maintain a strong foundation of safety and care. Canadian Academy is a closed campus. Boarding students use the Orah app to sign out every time they leave campus, providing their destination, time of departure, and expected time of return. More details about the safety and security of our boarding program are shared with parents through the Boarding Student Handbook upon enrollment.
TABS Certified
Canadian Academy is a proud member of The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS). TABS offers professional development opportunities and resources for our boarding staff members, including The Foundations of Care and Practice Credential program. This program covers a range of topics including safety, wellness, inclusivity, and supervision - helping us to provide the best possible care for our students.
