Canadian Academy invites you to the annual PTA sponsored Food and Fun Fair on Saturday, April 11. The day will kickoff at 10:30 am in the Main Gym with the Parade of Nations, showcasing countries and costumes from within our school.
A brief welcome from our Headmaster in the main gym will conclude our opening celebration, and then the food and drink booths will be open for business at 11:00 am. Food booths, set up in the Main Gym, represent many countries.
Canadian Academy’s 10th grade class will be running games in the parking lot for elementary school students. The ELAC playground will be open at 11:00 am, but please remember parents are responsible for their supervising their children.
We are excited to once again be serving beer and Estate Wines with this year’s soft drinks, water and tea. If you are planning on drinking please remember not to drive and to make alternative transportation plans. Canadian Academy supports responsible alcohol consumption and will NOT be liable for any person ignoring Japan's zero-tolerance drinking and driving laws.
Food and Fun Fair uses a ticket system for food, drinks, and games. Ticket booths will be in the atrium, and tickets will be available in ¥100 increments; cash is not accepted at any booth. In keeping with the school’s eco-friendly model, we will be bringing back our plate system, which is free of charge.
Entertainment will begin at 11:00 and continue through out the day until it’s time to draw for our fabulous raffle featuring spectacular prizes such as hotel stays, dinner at restaurants, pearl jewelries, travel coupon, donated by local companies and establishments. You won’t want to miss out on this year’s prizes, so make sure you buy multiple Raffle tickets for many chances to win.
There will be several seating areas, indoor and outdoor, so everyone can relax, enjoy and mingle with one another. Parking at CA is very limited and only allowed during the event: 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. Please consider alternative parking options at Times Parking Garage south of CA or take the train.
Parents, teachers, faculty, staff and students have been working together to organize this fantastic event. Please save the date on your calendar. Everyone plays an integral part in the success of this biggest event of the year at our school. Please do not hesitate to contact your Country Coordinator, or the Chairs, Jacquiline Haydon, Mika Ishida, Mirna Raineri or Bernie Marshall with questions or to volunteer.
We offer our most sincere thanks for your help, dedication and support. We are looking forward to a fantastic and fun filled day at Canadian Academy for the PTA’s 2015 Food and Fun Fair.
