A Summer of Fun and Learning at Canadian Academy

Join our learning adventures that offer opportunities for students to explore their interests. Follow your passions or be a risk-taker and try something new. Our activities are in line with Canadian Academy’s philosophy and practices, with a touch of summer!

Our Summer Experience, Summer Adventure and Summer Discovery programs are designed with both current and non-current students in mind, while Summer Start is designed for current students to extend their learning in and out of the classroom.

Program Offerings

Summer Start

Current Pre-K-Grade 6
June 16-June 17

Summer Start is a two-day program that helps students finish the school week and transition smoothly into the upcoming summer programs. While Summer Start is primarily designed to support current CA students, we welcome any student to join us for these two days of fun!

Summer Adventure

Current Grades 5-8
June 19-June 23

Summer Adventure is a 5-day overnight camp at YMCA Camp Anan in Tokushima prefecture. Designed to get students active and engaged with nature, we have planned an array of outdoor activities ranging from kayaking to night hiking to snorkelling, and so much more. Summer Experience

Current Pre-K-Grade 6
June 20-July 8
(no weekends)

Summer Experience is a full-day program from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for students currently enrolled in Pre-K through Grade 6.

You may sign up your child for one, two, or three weeks, whatever fits your family’s schedule best!

Summer Discovery

Current Pre-K-Grade 8
July 18-July 29
(no weekends)

Summer Discovery is a program designed for students will all levels of English (even if that means zero!). Join us for two weeks of educational fun, including an outdoor activity day and barbeque! During the course of the program, students will prepare a presentation for their families and peers that they will present on the last day.

Our Location

Canadian Academy is conveniently located on Rokko Island, an artificial island in the port city of Kobe, Japan. Please visit the Rokko Island City website (www.rokko-island.com) for information on our school’s immediate environment.

Our Staff

Our Summer Program staff consists of a mix of Canadian Academy faculty, teachers from outside of CA, college and high school students, and student volunteers, balancing each other out with their unique backgrounds and talents. Everyone is trained in CPR/First Aid, and our student to staff ratio allows for constant supervision in providing a safe environment to enhance involvement and learning.

Our Facilities

The ELAC (Early Learning and Activities Center), CA South building, Atrium, Science Laboratory, STEAM Lab, P&G Black Box Theater, Lilly Field, Nestle Field, and ELAC gymnasium will be used during the summer to provide students with innovative spaces to encourage their growth.
