Overview

Summer Experience is a full-day program from 9:00AM to 3:00PM for students currently enrolled in Pre-K through Grade 6. You may sign up your child for one, two, or three weeks, whatever fits your family's schedule best!

“Choose your experience!”

Students KB and older can choose their experiences! We have 4 periods of fun activities throughout the day. For each period, students get to pick which course they want to partake in. Popular courses will be occupied on a first come, first served basis, so make sure you sign up early to secure your top choice course!

Pre-K and KA students will focus on literacy, numeracy, fine and gross motor skills, and social skills in a fun and safe environment, much like Canadian Academy’s early childhood classroom setting. We will continue to expose children to learning experiences in line with Canadian Academy’s philosophy with a touch of summer fun!

Every day is ‘Falcon Time!’

At the end of each day, we have an activity slot for skill building and fun. Each group consists of Pre-K to Grade 6 students, teachers, and staff. Every day brings a fun new challenge!

Explore how physics influences the way we play sports by analyzing the functions of movement in table tennis. The science of physics plays an important role in the way we understand how to play sports. Every decision we make and movement we do in a sport relates to rotation, gravity, and aerodynamics. In this course, we will explore these concepts in relation to table tennis and how the movement of the ball, player, and paddle relate to physics. You will experience rotation, spin mechanics, gravity, friction, and aerodynamics through fun activities.

Ever wanted to make your own stop motion movie? In this super fun, non-stop class, you will learn how to create your own stop motion animated films on a tablet. We will explore many different styles of stop motion animation and the techniques that designers and artists use in creating their films: making storyboards to map out narratives; learning how to design characters; and even using household objects for set design. All of this will be put together as an original movie to share with the class in a final session and to send to friends and family. This workshop is the first step in understanding the mechanics of stop motion animation using a mobile device and designed specifically for the young learner to become budding stop motion animators.
