Student learning is driven by three essential elements

Inquiry, Reflection & Impact

ELAC Monkey Bars

Inquiry

Students develop the skills and confidence to become critical thinkers and independent learners. With a rich, experiential learning environment, our students learn to put their inquiry into action. Learning at CA requires students to be deep thinkers.

Reflection

Students participate in their own learning through reflection and student agency. Students from Elementary to Secondary are supported to learn self-management skills, self-reflection skills, creative thinking, and interpersonal skills, all of these give students the tools they need to take responsibility for their own learning. Student agency is at the heart of our programmes - student choice, voice, and ownership of learning. Learning at CA is a reflective experience.

Impact

Students take action out of their learning. Whether through service projects, exhibitions, or collaborations beyond the classroom, students explore and consider the impact of their actions and choices, both on their own lives and those around them. Learning at CA has an impact on our students’ lives.

How We Are Structured

Elementary Division

Pre-K to Grade 5

The Early Learning and Elementary programs nurture and prepare young students to become caring, active agents of their own learning and partners in the learning process.

It focuses on the whole child, developing learners who demonstrate respect for themselves and others and seeking out opportunities to actively participate in the world around them.

Middle school is an exciting time when students learn about the world and themselves in a supportive and challenging environment.

Our middle school students begin to make practical connections between their studies and the real world, while learning how to learn through a focus on communication, research, self-management, collaboration, and critical thinking skills across all subjects.
