Middle School is a time of rapid physical, social, and emotional change. Students flourish in smaller, more developmentally responsive environments that emphasize belonging, structure, and guided independence. Our Middle School program is designed around the needs of early adolescents, with routines and structures that support well-being, including transition support as they move from Elementary School to Middle School - and later, from Middle School into High School.

Middle School students are given the opportunity to make meaningful choices within their academic program. Students learn to develop time-management skills, and have more freedom in selecting classes and in how assignments are completed. They also take on age-appropriate and meaningful leadership roles - from Student Body Council to student-initiated service clubs. 

We understand that our Middle Schoolers need to move and be active. Our robust after-school activities and athletics program gives student the opportunity to develop key skills. Our school trips - including the beloved Week Without Walls trips - give students an opportunity to try something new and build lasting friendships. 

At Canadian Academy, we are committed to fostering meaningful learning in an environment that encourages connection and well-being. In line with that mission, students at CA keep their smartphones in designated pouches during the school day, reducing distractions and creating more opportunities for authentic conversations both in and between classes.
