Learning Together at Canadian Academy
Canadian Academy inspires students to inquire, reflect and choose to compassionately impact the world, throughout their lives.
Canadian Academy is proud to be an International Bacccalaureate Organisation (IB) World School. From age 3 to 18, our learners are inspired to inquire through the International Baccalaureate's (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP, 3-11), Middle Years Programme (MYP, 11-16) and Diploma Programme (16-18), developing into global citizens as they put the IB's Learner Profile into action.
We develop knowledge and skills as we dive into a world of critical and creative exploration of ideas. With a rich experiential learning programme, a wealth of resources, a 1:1 laptop environment and a high teacher to student ratio, we have the world at our fingertips. We put our learning into action in their inquiry, along the way learning about our role in a rapidly-developing world.
Through CA's own Pathways programme, we can launch further into a world of authentic, individualized learning, exploring internships, mentorships and problem-based learning.
We are learning to become successful learners through the approaches to learning skills in our classes and through our advisory programme. From the academic skills of research, communication and critical thinking to the creative and interpersonal (affective) skills, we are developing a lifelong toolkit that will help us be successful in an ever-changing world.
We compassionately impact the world
We believe in compassionate action through service learning. From the PYP to the DP, we are actively involved in service for and with others, considering the impacts of our actions and making choices that help us develop skills in planning, collaboration, perseverance and communication.
CA's Learning Principles
Teaching and learning are driven by Canadian Academy's Learning Principles, which help align the mission and vision of the school with those of the IB.
