CA 211: Canadian Academy is NOT Taking a Holiday!
This school year ends on June 14 and the new academic year doesn't begin until August 22. But Canadian Academy is not taking a holiday! Here's what's happening at CA this summer.
Students Explore, Discover, and Experience at Two Summer Programs!
Are you staying in Japan this summer and looking for an activity to make both the kids and parents happy? Look no further than our two summer programs:
●Summer Experience 2019
●Summer Fun @ CA
Our summer programs are open to current CA students and other students from our community and around the world. To learn more about both programs, read on or visit Summer Programs 2019.
Both programs offer kids weeks of fun and learning. Join our learning adventures that offer opportunities for students to explore their interests. Follow your passions or be a risk-taker and try something new. Our activities are in line with Canadian Academy's philosophy and practices, with a touch of summer fun!
We teach all the programs in English and design them for both CA students and non-CA students. Summer program students come from all around the world. Last year, we welcomed students from five continents Africa, Asia, Australia, America, and Europe.
Summer Experience 2019 runs from June 17-July 5:
●Open to CURRENT PreK to Grade 8 students
●You can choose one week or all three!
●Summer Experience is a full day program from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. There is optional extended fun for Elementary School students until 4:30 p.m.

Behind the Scenes This Summer: Infrastructure Work
Canadian Academy's original Rokko Island campus main building is now thirty-years-old. To maintain and improve our facilities, we have a multi-year Master Facility Plan. The plan has three different components: infrastructure, social heart, and learning spaces.
This summer, we will focus on infrastructure. When you return in August, you won't be able to tell that many important behind-the-scenes upgrades took place. The school will be investing in improvements to:
●Main Building Elevator
●Automatic door controls
●New energy-efficient windows in some areas
●Staff changing rooms (in PE area)
One result is that, at times this summer, the electricity, water, and the main building elevator will be limited or out of service.
As part of this summer's work, we will close the entire campus from July 8-13. There will be no power on campus, which means no safety systems will be in operation. Only construction workers will be allowed on campus on those dates.
Making the campus a welcoming place for students and new faculty
Seventeen new faculty members and one new principal will be joining us next school year. This means that we need to get housing ready to welcome them all.
And of course, we need to make our campus a welcoming place for new and returning students in August. We have one week to give the entire campus a deep clean before teachers arrive to set up their classrooms for the new year.
Questions, or ideas for future finance articles, are welcome and can be sent to email@example.com. Thank you.
