Bus Routes & Fees 2020-2021
Canadian Academy is pleased to offer bus services for our families. CA buses supplement services offered by several housing communities as well as public transportation. Routes have been designed with attention to where our families reside with consideration to bus maneuverability and traffic congestion. Service is available on a first-come, first-served service basis to students in KA through Grade 12.
The school offers two routes - Ashiya and Rokko - as reflected below. Students serve as bus monitors to encourage safety and good behavior, as well as an on-board CCTV.
Prices for round-trip commitments reflect a small discount over one-way transportation. In addition, a 25% discount is provided to second and third children in the same family. These discounts are reflected in the signup form. Also, books of 10 single-ride tickets are available for a 20% discount over the single-ride price.
Signups represent a school year-long commitment and are refundable on the same basis as tuition fees. Families may also choose single ride tickets for shorter commitments. Once ordered, they can be picked up from the bus coordinator and given to the bus driver on a daily basis.
If you have comments or suggestions regarding this service please contact the bus coordinator Jan Ryszawy or call the office at 078 857 0100.
Due to COVID-19, we will continue to adapt our procedures and expectations to meet the needs of our bus riders. At this time, we are planning to implement the following for the beginning of the school year:
- Masks will be worn at all times.
- Students' temperature readings at home will be presented to the bus monitor/driver before boarding the bus.
- Students will apply hand sanitizer before entering the bus.
- Whenever possible, social distancing will be practiced. Bus monitors will help students with seat choice.
- Only CA students and CA staff will be allowed on the bus.
- Air circulation and air conditioning will be adjusted to provide comfort to the passengers.
- The bus will be disinfected after every ride.
Thank you for following these expectations and doing your part in supporting the health and well-being of the CA community.
