International Food and Fun Fair

Dear CA Parents,

We are looking forward and ahead to Saturday, April 16th, 2022-- the day of our International Food and Fun Fair (IFFF)! As we won't know what the world may look like at that time, flexibility will be the key to making this event happen and to be successful-- and we need your help.

In years past, this event was held in the gymnasium, atrium, and parking lot-- this spring, it could be like that, or out on the field, or in the parking lot, or even as an order ahead with curbside pick-up based on the Covid protocols at that time!

At this point, we would like to invite you to volunteer to oversee your home country's food booth, and if you are visiting your home country over Winter Break, consider purchasing the ingredients that you might not have on hand in Kobe in order for you (and friends) to prepare a national dish.

Surely we have all learned how essential food is to strengthen one's immune system, and we have rediscovered herbs, vegetables, and natural remedies, but above all we have come closer with nature to enjoy outdoor activities. Therefore, we would like our IFFF to be as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible. Using locally grown food as well as reusable tableware are just two of the initiatives for this event.

We know that creating a dish that can be sold in a variety of conditions-- keeping in mind that there might not be a way to keep food hot depending on where the event is held-- will be a challenge. But as this is such a fun day and PTA's largest fundraiser, I'm sure we can be flexible and creative in our thinking in spite of the unknown.
