Canadian Academy School Supply List for 2022-2023

We want your child to be well-prepared for their first day of school (and beyond). If possible, please have these items on the first day of school-- but we understand that sometimes it takes a few extra days.

While we do have a Lost and Found, please be sure to write your child's name and grade level on the items below whenever possible.

For all children, regardless of grade:

• A refillable water bottle with a spout and a lid that covers the spout
• Personal Emergency Kit in a Ziploc bag, containing: a battery/hand-operated flashlight, batteries for the flashlight, snacks, such as cereal bars/dried fruit or any other nutritious food that does not need to be cooked, bottled water

Grade 6, 7 & 8 Classroom Supplies

• Pens: Blue, black and red ink 
• Pencil or Mechanical pencil (HB)
• Eraser 
• Highlighters
• Pencil case or supply box 
• Earbud headphones

For school events/performances during the year: black dress, black pants or black skirt and dress shirt/tie or blouse

Subject/Grade Specific Supplies 

Mathematics

• 2 square or lined notebooks

English

• Lined notebook

Physical Education

• One pair of athletic shoes
• PE uniform (These will be available for purchase through our PTA Falcon Store)

Design

• B4 size art sketchbook  (No lines)
• Small ruler with the lines inside (see picture)
• Colored pencils
• Scissors

Spanish

• 1 lined notebook or loose leaf paper that will fit inside the binder
• 1 A4 size 2 or 3 hole binder
• 1 set of tabs that will fit inside the binder

Other School Supplies

• Protective thick zippered laptop sleeve  Specifically we recommend ZEROSHOCK series products from Elecom
• A supply of face masks
• individual, personal size hand sanitizer that is in a sealable container 

Laptop 

Historically Canadian Academy is primarily a Mac based school. Windows users may need to be more independent and tech savvy in classrooms, as teachers are less experienced with the platform.

Apple laptop from 2019 or later (running macOS Big Sur or later).

Windows 10 or 11 laptop from 2019 or later. For "in class" support the laptop should have Windows set to English. In Japan, Dell supplies US keyboard and US Windows models; other companies may also have US models available.

Optional

Small cloth tote bag to carry around computer & folders from locker to classes.
